( Usually when we write posts, we keep our names to “Admin” -  Today I am using my name as this is a post that I had created on a social site.  I would be very interested in your point of view in helping people understand that blogging is about building a beautiful train track- thank you)

When I was working with children with different needs, I was taught a technique to see how connected these kids were.  You took a wooden train set and asked the children to build a train track.  Such a simple test really.  The children who made tracks that were well put together, that made the loop, showed them to be thinking in a whole reasoning.  The children who had tracks going nowhere, well, you can understand their head space ” all over the place” is an apt description.

There are many adults who will go “all over the place” not organized, flitting around from this to that, with little rhyme or reason.  They start one thing in their lives and move on to something else never connecting and getting very frustrated because they do not see results.

What does this have to do with marketing?

Simple. (more…)

Motivation can come in many forms in many ways.  While one person may  see an article and cheer, another will read and cry.  Which will you do?

The howl tore through the early-morning silence of the house.

“It’s him!” Cheryl shouted, leaping from the bed. As I struggled to sit up, I saw my wife disappear down the stairs, a woman on a well-practiced mission.

As she entered the kitchen, our cat Julius was still pacing, still howling, still spitting his rage. And the target? He sat where he had been sitting for the past few weeks - safe behind the glass of the patio door, placidly staring inside.

He was an orange cat who had taken to appearing at our door in the early hours, where he would sit like a tabby Buddha, his large green eyes peering at us. I had begun calling him Lord Marmalade because of his staid bearing and color. All the fury that Julius would unleash upon the glass did nothing to shake his gaze. That job, unfortunately, had fallen to Cheryl.

As she often did, she pounded on the glass. When that didn’t work, I heard the side door open as she resorted to Plan B: The Dreaded Garden Hose. A few quick bursts of water shook the orange interloper’s resolve, and he made his usual escape over the backyard fence.

But he would be back. He always was.   Read the rest of this story here at the Globe and mail

Success BlogNet pays tribute to Paul Newman

Today we learned that a movie icon, a man with integrity, a man of many talents died on Friday at his his farmhouse in Westport, Conn., surrounded by his friends and family.

Paul Newman passed away at the age of 83.

You can read about his life in detail at CBC News.ca

While reading about this man at the CBC News site, one of the comments made sums up my thoughts which I am putting here:

robotman ( from Vancouver B.C, Canada):

Cheers to the life of Paul Newman!

What a great life and career, Mr Newman played the epitome of cool. He was the only idol I ever knew and I will make point of celebrating his life. The sadness of the world losing such a great man is overshadowed by the vast contributions he made.

R.I.P. Mr Newman, you will be missed by many.

In honor of Paul Newman

A blogger who is with Success BlogNet has written a blog post that I quickly wanted to share.  Her blog is called  Like an Eagle -  Soar.   The title of her post  is Follow Your Dreams and it is well work looking at as well as the comment I made to her.

All to often we lose our dreams because of the mind set of others.  When it comes to working online whether it is affiliate marketing or blogging, you are going to find those who will be so supportive and giving but the reality is you will also find those who will try to crush you.  Keep your focus, your mindset and your balance.  Follow your dreams and reach for the stars.

Success-Blog-Net thanks Tin Nguyens Garden for Image

While reviewing all the best blogs for BlogNet Awards, we stumbled across On the Bricks blog.  Run by a very interesting man name Chilly, we came across one of his posts, that were funny, but at times a little unsettling.   Here are a few of ” Have You Ever Wondered?”

1. Do infants enjoy infancy as much as adults enjoy adultery?

2. How is it possible to have a civil war?

3. Why do they put Braille on the drive-through bank machines?

4. If one synchronized swimmer drowns, do the rest drown too?

5. If you ate pasta and antipasto, would you still be hungry?

6. If you try to fail, and succeed, which have you done?

You will just have to go to his site to read the rest of them…lol.  Oh my personal favorite was number 27.
